Classroom Information

Before School
  • Students are to remain in the cafeteria until 8:10 if they come early to school.
Sick Days
  • If your child is ill and won’t be attending school, please call the office and leave a message before school begins for the day or e-mail Mrs. Novacek. Any homework they have missed will be placed on their desk. Upon their return, they will need to complete this homework within two days. Exceptions will occur if other arrangements are made.
Homework
  • Your child will have daily homework most of the time. They are to complete their homework and bring it back to school the next day.
Breakfast
  • Students that eat breakfast at school need to finish breakfast and be in their desks by 8:20 for attendance and announcements. Exceptions are made when busses are late.
Book Orders
  • Several times during the year I will send home one or more book order forms with your child. You are never obligated to purchase any of the books. Should you decide to purchase from the order form you will need to complete the order form and send the correct amount together in an envelope. Please send a check made payable to the book company.
Library
  • The student’s will have library on Wednesdays. The student’s are allowed to check out two books. Many of the library books are AR books. Students will be able to take computerized AR quizzes on them.
Box Tops
  • Box Tops will be collected all year. Box Tops are a wonderful way to raise money for our school. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents so check your grocery items carefully to make sure you aren’t throwing away 10 cents.
Winter Clothing
  • Students should wear boots, snow pants, scarves, mittens, etc., during the winter months. If students do not have warm clothing with them they are required to sit in the detention room during noon recess. It is important for the students to play outside and breathe in some fresh air.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
  • Parent-Teacher conferences will be in November and February.
Bus Time
  • Please send a note whenever your child is not riding the bus or is riding a different bus. It is very important that the bus drivers know if your child is riding the bus or not.
